5th WAIOT congress

The first German WAIOT Congress will be held on June 5th and 6th, 2026, at Knappschaft Kliniken in Recklinghausen, Germany. This landmark event will bring together international experts to share valuable insights on the pressing issue of infections in orthopaedics and traumatology. The congress will feature a variety of lectures and expert panels, offering ample opportunities for participants to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange ideas with colleagues from around the globe.

Despite ongoing efforts and advancements in antibiotic therapies, infections related to bone, joint, biofilms, and implants remain a significant challenge in the field. The World Association against Infection in Orthopaedics and Trauma (WAIOT) stands as the largest and most prominent scientific association addressing these critical issues worldwide.

This congress aims to take a substantial step toward improving infection control in orthopaedics and traumatology, and we hope it will be a valuable experience for all participants.
